Podcast: What’s the point of storytelling? | Mobas

Written by Adam Tuckwell | May 10, 2020 11:00:00 PM

In episode four of Mobas’ after-hours podcast series, What’s the Point?, Greg Bryant (Creative Lead), Adam Tuckwell (Commercial Director), Katie Vickery (Head of Brand Strategy and Insight) and Jay Evans (Head of PR) explore what is the point of storytelling in marketing.

In marketing, storytelling is an interactive art form that is often misunderstood and sometimes looked down upon by marketers. Should this be the case? Jay kicked off the podcast by sharing a quote he was told early in his career, “Stories can make you laugh and make you cry, but they definitely make you buy.” Why else would the likes of John Lewis invest so much into their story-based Christmas adverts?

But storytelling should not be limited to global B2C giants. Every business, B2B, B2C, multinational leaders or regionally based start-ups has a story to tell. In the podcast, the team offer insight into how to discover the stories within your business and how to ignite a passion for sharing them.
